Nevertheless, it is also important to acknowledge that the transition is not evenly distributed. Short-term displacement effects are often concentrated among lower-skilled or entry-level positions, creating transitional inequality before new roles stabilize. Empirical research increasingly highlights a polarization effect, where mid-skill routine jobs decline while both high-skill analytical roles and low-skill service roles expand. Therefore, the impact of AI should be understood not as uniform replacement, but as asymmetric restructuring of labor demand.

Much of the anxiety surrounding AI reflects not technological misunderstanding but institutional and psychological adjustment costs. AI is therefore unlikely to replace humans in a direct and totalizing sense. Rather, it redefines the comparative advantages between human and machine intelligence.
